SKNHEAD is the first product range that can be used as a tattoo, beard, face and body moisturiser and hair styler, all in one product. The concept for the range, currently consisting of seven products, was actually born back in 1999.
The founder Adee Phelan, previously brought out electrical, styling and female cosmetics and haircare brands, wanted to bring out a luxury men’s skin and hair grooming range for many years. Realising the grooming market is totally saturated with products that all do exactly same things, he wanted to create a range of products with a very specific USP. After working in the professional and consumer markets for 20 years, he knew what products were already out there and wanted to better them it all.
Beginning in 2012, Adee worked on developing the product range, sampling several different products and ingredients each week, all with the aim of mastering the art of the SKNHEAD lead product, Game Changer. Something that can be used on short, medium or long hair and is a face, body and beard moisturiser. When carrying out his research, chemists, skin care experts and hair care professionals all said that what he was trying to do couldn’t be done. A good moisturiser needs to evaporate from the skin within 7-8 seconds and a good hair product needs to be heavy enough to have hold. But after years of endless samples and persistence, Adee cracked the precisely balanced formula in mid-2017.
Adee didn’t want the range to just be an amazing styling product. He realised that men have changed, they’re into shine, conditioning and moisturising.
The range has a coconut scent (extensive surveys found that coconut, other than being Adee’s favourite, was favoured by 90% of the people asked).
It contains ingredients such as Cacao Seed Butter and ethically sourced Palm Oil, rich in Vitamin E and known for its antioxidant and anti-ageing properties when used on skin. Also helping to lightly moisturise hair and give it a healthy looking sheen, whilst helping to hold and define your style.
